Today, we’re happy to announce the launch of Quixel Bridge 2018.4.

This fourth release of Bridge brings with it a host of planned buffs, including 3.5x faster downloads, brand new Maya, Unity, Unreal, Arnold, V-Ray, and Redshift integrations, introducing a new “Compact Mode”, truly resumable downloads, drag-select and more.

Bridge is faster, sleeker and more versatile than ever.

Plug-in bonanza

Autodesk Maya

The new Maya LiveLink plugin drastically streamlines your Megascans to Maya workflow by simplifying the installation and import process. Getting Megascans assets in Maya is now a matter of a click, and full support for Redshift, V-Ray and Arnold will help you get up to speed in no time.

Unity

The first version of the Unity plugin came with some key features to streamline your workflow, such as automatically packing images to suit Unity’s standard shaders and creating LOD chains and prefab assets automatically from Megascans 3D assets.

Since its first release, however, we’ve now rewritten the plugin from the ground up to give you better performance and flexibility of use. The new plugin sports a single installer replacing the earlier HD/non-HD installers. It works across all Unity versions from 3.0 to 2018.xx, and any of Unity’s standard shader models. For windows users, texture packing is ~40% faster.

The Unity plugin is open source which means you can customize it to fit your needs. Feel free to get in touch with us support@quixel.se for any questions/requests related to customization.

Unreal Engine 4

The latest UE4 LiveLink update introduces a brand new 4.20 build, and we’ve worked closely with studios to bring you pain-free custom engine installation support, along with added support for 4.19 down to 4.15. All master materials have been further optimized, and the source code revisited.

Introducing the Compact Bridge

Bridge now has a compact size that frees up precious screen real-estate, without losing any of the power. Switch to Bridge compact view and use side-by-side with your tool of choice.

To switch, select Window > Switch to Compact or just resize your window. While we’re on the topic, you can also select Window > Toggle Always on Top so the Bridge window never disappears behind another tool.

Asset downloads now 3.5x faster

We just made asset downloads much, much faster. The next time you want to get some assets for your project, downloads will be up to 3.5x faster! You save a bunch of time waiting for files to download, and get to the creative part of your project faster.

Bonus feature: Multi-select

Now that you’re saving so much time downloading, we know you’ll be downloading more assets. We made it a little easier to select multiple assets quickly too. Hold down the Control key (or Command on Mac) and click and drag to select all the assets in your view.

Never lose download progress

Lost Internet connectivity, switched to another connection, or even shut down your machine? No problem! All your ongoing downloads will resume from where they left off without having to start all over again.

Share assets with your team

Found a great asset that you want to share with your team? Right-click the asset and copy the ID or Link. This is a fast and simple way for others to find the right asset.

We hope you enjoy these updates and that your workflow is a little faster and smoother. Stay tuned for more cool improvements and integrations coming your way.
