September 20, 2023: Fab’s launch has been delayed to 2024. We need more time to deliver a fabulous experience from day one. We’ll share more news next year about how to create your Fab account.

Earlier today at the Game Developers Conference (GDC), Epic Games announced Fab, a new marketplace that gives all digital content creators a single destination to discover, share, buy and sell digital assets. Bringing together the best features and digital assets from across the ArtStation Marketplace, Unreal Engine Marketplace, Sketchfab, and Quixel, Fab’s mission is to inspire and enable the next generation of creators to build the emerging metaverse together.

Launching later this year, Fab will host the digital content that creators and developers need to build incredible digital experiences, including 3D models, environments, VFX, sound, digital humans, animations and more—and Quixel will be an integral part of it. This new creator marketplace will feature Megascans, Quixel’s massive online scan library with thousands of photorealistic 3D and 2D assets, and all Quixel content will move over to Fab when it launches. Your access to Quixel will remain unchanged and you can continue using Quixel Bridge and the Megascans library on the web to download Megascans assets until the full launch of Fab later this year. We will also phase out the Quixel subscription system—if this change affects you, we will be in touch soon about timelines and next steps.

Our mission has always been to scan the world and to build an ecosystem that unlocks AAA level artistry for everyone, and as part of Fab, it will be even easier for creators to build extraordinary digital worlds. You’ve always had access to our meticulously-detailed 3D assets, and with Fab, you’ll continue to have access to new and existing Megascans content within your creation tools of choice.

We’re excited about the future and hope that creators like you will join us on this journey. To learn more about Fab and to stay updated as we get closer to Fab’s launch date, head over to Fab.com. And if you want to access the Alpha version of Fab, you can check it out today as a library plugin within Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).
